Got in line in the rain Friday morning – 5:45 am at the local public library – to get my vote in. I thought I would be the first one there. Nope! This library has had lines of voters waiting all the way down the street, 6 days a week, for a month. I’ve never seen anything like it.
On the podcast this weekend I did this brief history of daytrading to give 2020’s new crop of traders some sense of what came before them, and why it always ends with retail traders getting arbed out by machines in the end. That’s not a reason to stop investing and trading and learning, but it should be a wakeup call for those thinking about quitting their jobs (or not even bothering to get jobs in the first place).
Send this episode to the delusional new trader in your life, preferably before they start shopping for a prime broker.
