Spanish flags fly atop the trading posts at the New York Stock Exchange Friday in solidarity with the Spanish people who’ve been attacked this week. I took this shot from the balcony. People put down the trading floor sometimes as ceremonial or symbolic. Well I would argue that ceremonies and symbolism are important, and the NYSE acts, in part, as one of the most powerful and enduring symbols of freedom around the world.
