Michael Batnick’s List of Essential Investor Books

I’m going to make it really easy for you to figure out the right gift for the investors in your life this holiday season – give them the gift of knowledge.

My friend and colleague Michael Batnick devours books at an almost inhuman pace. He’s read virtually every great book about investing and trading in existence. This week, he published a list of his 40 most essential for investors. The subject matter of the books he chose are a mix of market history, investing methodology and current events.

This is not a complete list of the canon, which would probably run close to 200 or so. Instead, it’s an essentials list. There are ten on this list that I’ve been meaning to get to forever. There are a few I want to go back to because it’s been a long time and good advice never gets stale.

I hope you get a few recommendations out of it and a handful of thoughtful gift ideas. Even if the recipient is you.
