SNV: The National Returns

Welcome to Saturday Night Video…

One of my fave records of the decade thus far was The National’s deceptively low-key High Violet from the summer of 2010. Three years later, the band returns with a new album, Trouble Will Find Me, along with all the requisite TV performances to get the words out.

I’ve only just begun listening to the new album but the thing about The National is that the beauty and brilliance of their songs typically doesn’t reveal itself until at least the third listen.

Here’s this week’s live performance of the new track ‘This is the Last Time’ from the Sony Outdoor Stage for their appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
