A very big week for earnings

This is a big week for stocks, many important companies reporting earnings and giving guidance.  A great big list of reporters, along with the days, is below (via the New York Times):

CORPORATE EARNINGS Companies reporting results will include Halliburton, Hasbro, McDonald’s and Texas Instruments (Monday); Altria, DuPont, Lockheed Martin, United Parcel Service, Whirlpool, Apple and Netflix (Tuesday); AOL, Boeing, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Caterpillar, Delta Air Lines, Eli Lilly, Ford Motor, GlaxoSmithKline, IAC/InterActiveCorp, JetBlue Airways, Nasdaq OMX, PepsiCo, US Airways, WellPoint, Visa and Zynga (Wednesday); 3M, Boston Scientific, Colgate-Palmolive, Dow Chemical, Exxon Mobil, Hyundai, International Paper, the Interpublic Group, Kimberly-Clark, McGraw-Hill, Moody’s, Raytheon, Royal Dutch Shell, Sprint Nextel, United Continental, United Technologies, Volkswagen, Amazon.com, Facebook and Starbucks (Thursday); and Barclays, Chevron, K.K.R., Merck, Newell Rubbermaid and Weyerhaeuser (Friday).

Doubtless we’ll all be watching for Apple and Netflix on Tuesday night as well as Amazon, Facebook and Starbucks on Thursday night.  I’m long Visa for customer accounts and expecting a bright report on Wednesday.
