There are lots of cogs in the Internet machine that make your web experience whirr and click.  Each of them invented by someone – probably a person you’ve never heard of.

Malcolm Gladwell recently explained that Steve Jobs was really more of a tweaker of existing technologies than an inventor.  Royal Pingdom has a look at ten inventors who’ve built the digital foundation upon which people like Steve have been able to create so much value.
