The Media's Coverage of Occupy Wall Street

Has the media done a good or a bad job of covering Occupy Wall Street?  I think they started out dismissive but as the crowds have grown and the tenacity of the participants became more apparent they’ve certainly gotten more serious about it.

Is it a freak show?  Yes.  Are there a lot of uninformed people down there?  Yes.  But there are a lot of uninformed freaks walking around your local shopping mall, too – just look around.

And this is beside the point anyway – what should be focused on here is the rage, the Primal Scream and the fact that these people know that they’ve been wronged even if they cannot put their finger on exactly how.

The Listening Post, Al-Jazeerrah’s English-language news site, featured me in their video of the week talking about the media’s attitude toward the kids in Zuccotti Park.  Enjoy!
