While everyone was watching the Rajaratnam verdict, another hearing of a sort was taking place in Washington – the Senate judiciary began mulling over the AT&T – T-Mobile merger and what it might mean for the wireless business from all sides…
From TechFlash:
The title of the two-hour hearing, “The AT&T/T-Mobile Merger: Is Humpty Dumpty Being Put Back Together Again?” set the tone for the hearing, which was peppered with heated debate, repeated “Ma Bell” references and challenges from competitors.
At issue were whether or not the two companies are considered “competitors”, how the deal will affect rural customers, what it all means for spectrum capacity and whether there will be jobs lost or created as a result.
Head over for a look at how the hearing went.
