San Francisco Happy Hour, etc

(a terrible pic of Fisherman’s Wharf I took with Instagram yesterday)

First of all, if you’re in the Bay Area, my friend Julian from The Basis Point has set up a pretty cool meetup at the Owl Tree on Post Street and Taylor so come by for drink, we’ll be hanging out from 5:30 on.

Next, would you be surprised to hear that the potential merger for the NYSE is an absolute feeding frenzy for the lawyers and bankers?  Well of course it is!  WSJ Deal Journal has the roster of which faction is paying whom the big bucks:

Nasdaq-NYSE: So Many Bankers and Lawyers, Oh My (Deal Journal)

Also, for a leadoff earnings season hitter, Alcoa has been anything but consistent.  That said, they came out with the first report of the quarter tonight and The Street likes it:

Alcoa Profit Tops Analyst Estimates as Aluminum Price Gains (Bloomberg)

Lastly, congratulations to my friend and TRB contributor Dinosaur Trader on the birth of his baby girl:

A New Baby, A New Reason To Hate On The NYX (Mixtape)
