The AP's Top Stories of 2010

The Associated Press asked newspaper editors around the country what they felt were the biggest news stories of the year.  The Top Ten list they came up based on these responses is below…

1. STRUGGLING ECONOMY
2. GULF OIL SPILL
3. CHINA’S RISE
4. REAL ESTATE CRISIS
5. TOYOTA RECALL
6. GM COMEBACK
7. FINANCIAL OVERHAUL
8. EUROPEAN BAILOUTS
9. 500 MILLION FACEBOOK USERS:
10. iPAD MANIA

Sounds about right, I suppose.  “Financial Overhaul” could probably move lower on the list as most of the reforms haven’t really taken effect yet.  The bill itself was 2300 pages; the average financial services person still isn’t sure how a lot of that stuff will be enforced or interpreted yet.

Head over below to read the rationale for these top story picks.
