CES: The Debutante Ball for Tech Gadgets

I found a great preview for what to expect coming out of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas later this week…

For decades, the world’s gizmo makers have kicked off the new year by gathering in Las Vegas to show off their new wares at a massive convention known known as the Consumer Electronics Show. The latest edition starts this Thursday, and the announcements, pre-announcements, and teasers are already upon us.

Harry McCracken of Technologizer gives us a nice breakdown of the areas of interest, including:

• Tablets (but not Apple’s)
• Smartphones (but not the Google Phone)
• Smartbooks
• 3D TV
• More e-Readers
• Car Tech
• Good Old Fashioned PCs

This stuff is important to be aware of, even though many of the stocks involved (those with hot items debuting) have already begun moving in anticipation.
