Me on The Big Short (Video)

What is the cultural significance of the film The Big Short?

I shot a brief interview for TIME ahead of tonight’s Oscars, at which the movie is up for Best Picture. I liked the movie, thought they did a good job dramatizing a tough subject, but I don’t consider it the Best Picture of 2015 (although I haven’t seen all the nominees).

For the record, my top films of 2015 were The Revenant, Straight Outta Compton, Star Wars and Mad Max.

But I’m biased, I don’t go to the theater to watch stuff about deaf Danish women or whatever. I like revenge, rap and racing scenes.

Anyway, my thoughts on The Big Short below and a link to the accompanying article is there too.
