It’s no secret how excited I am to see The Wolf of Wall Street when it comes out during Christmas week. The latest word is that the studio and Scorsese finally agreed on a running time, 2 hours and 59 minutes. This length dispute – along with some ratings concerns due to the drugs and nudity – was supposedly what pushed the film from its originally planned Thanksgiving release. Getting in in by Christmas was essential for it to be under Oscar consideration for this year. My cinematographer friend tells me people are going to blown away by the finished movie based on what he’s seen and heard from insiders on the project.
