This came out at the end of last week and I’m really proud of the team for keeping us at the forefront of the industry in terms of growth. For the year ending December 2020, Ritholtz Wealth Management was the 18th fastest growing financial advisory firm in America.
None of the firms growing through M&A are on this list; these are the true organic growers and we are proud to be among them. Organic growth, to me, is a measure of how much your message is resonating among employees and prospective customers, and how satisfied your customer base is. It’s about attracting clients because of what you’re saying and doing. It’s about earning referrals because you’re delivering. Inorganic growth is fine, but it’s not the same. Cutting checks to retiring Boomer advisors and buying clients with a “war chest” of other people’s money takes skill and expertise to be sure, but it’s just not as impressive to me and it never will be. You can’t buy a culture.
Anyway, my hat is off to the RWM team and to all of the other firms who have made this list.
