Josh here – for Talk Your Book this week, I chatted with Barry Ritholtz about a new piece he has at Bloomberg View describing the ways in which the Wall Street sales process has changed.

Once upon a time, investors were sold stories about the individual holdings in a portfolio and were enticed to invest based on the potential for the stocks themselves. In the modern era, portfolios are being constructed using data and evidence – but the need for there to be an enticing story still persists!
