Today: The 19th Annual Ira Sohn Investment Conference

I’ll be at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall this afternoon for the 19th annual Ira Sohn Investment Conference. Long-time readers know I’ve been at this event every year, taking my own notes and sharing the insights I’ve gleaned from America’s best investors here on the blog. My 2012 coverage here and 2013 coverage here, if you’re interested.

In addition to getting to watch some of my investment heroes speak and present each year, the event gives me a great read of the institutional mindset and sentiment. The audible gasps upon Jeff Gundlach calling Apple a short in the spring of 2012 was, in hindsight, a phenomenal tell. There wasn’t a audience member (almost 100% professionals) that wasn’t long the stock at the time. The relief registered on peoples faces when David Einhorn came up next and spoke about Apple as a long idea was equally telling.

Anyway, I’ll be there for you and relaying as much of the proceedings as possible, in addition to appearing on CNBC’s live coverage from the conference as part of The Halftime Report at 12. Check back in later.
