Goodbye, Christopher Hitchens

Christopher Hitchens passed away today at 62.

He was one of my intellectual heroes even though I disagreed with a lot of what he said.  His wit was incredible and the ferocity with which he set out to blow up the long-held dogma of others was always astounding.  When you read something Chris wrote you got that tingly feeling that something was about to happen….and sometimes it didn’t but at worst, you’d read something that made you think.

I flatter myself by saying that my own writing style owes a lot to his.  At least I hope it does.

So goodbye Chris, we’ll miss you.
