Top 10 ETFs Held in 401(k) Plans

Brightscope is out with a research report on ETF inclusion based on 50,000 plans that represent 90% of all 401(k) assets.

ETFs are an also-ran in the 401(k) biz, one of the last bastions of mutual fund dominance left.  This will change over time, everyone know it.  Why do you think Pimco and other families are now creating ETF versions of their popular open end funds?

Anyway, we do have some info on which ETFs are most likely to be held in 401(k) plans, they are predominantly low cost, plain vanilla indexes.  Below the top ten via AdvisorOne, head over at the link below for the full list…
