Via Chicago

My wife and kids have never seen Chicago and it’s one of my favorite cities in America and they have another week before school starts so off we go!

I’m really excited to share my favorite sights and neighborhoods and restaurants and tourist attractions with the babies. They got to see Boston for the first time this past April and Washington D.C. the spring before. I feel like at 13 and 10 they’re at the perfect age to have fun with their parents on trips and absorb the experiences in such a way that it’ll all be accessible to them for the rest of their lives. I still remember the trips I took with my family when I was their age. And there was a lot I had gotten out of it without having fully realized it at the time.

Anyway, we’re doing Wrigley Field, the Navy Pier, Lake Michigan, the architectural river tour, a steakhouse, a hot dog, some Chicago-style pizza, some museums and, I’m sure, a lot of shopping. Auto-responders are set and I’m unplugging from Trump, Powell, the Fed, China, the trade war and everything else for a few days.

While I’m gone, follow The Compound on Twitter for the best investor links in real-time.

And, as always, Tadas will have the very best curated linkfest of the day posted in the afternoon at Abnormal Returns. Tadas became our Director of Investor Education last year and the number one thing we asked of him was not to change a single thing about how he runs AR – it’s the most useful site in the financial blogosphere every day. No other resource on the web will make you smarter as a regular reader than this one.

Cheers! Back next week!
