Terror attack on my morning commute

Hot Links will not be seen this morning as there was a terror attack in the subway system beneath 42nd Street and 8th Avenue. I had not yet gotten to the area but the reports flooded social media right away. New Yorkers didn’t panic and the police response was immediate. The suspect was taken to Bellevue Hospital on the east side, having injured himself with his own explosive device. He is a 27 year old of Bangladeshi descent who came to the US seven years ago, lived in an apartment in Brooklyn and worked at an electrical company. In the hours ahead, we’ll find out about his radicalization and what help, if any, he many have recieved.

Thankfully there were no casualties and just a handful of non-threatening injuries.

I just want to take a moment to thank the NYPD, NYFD, Port Authority of NY & NJ, and the New York National Guard. These are the men and women who keep us safe from the radical Islamic terrorism that is fixated on New York City as well as a multitude of other threats every day.

Visit the New York Post for details and updates.

I’ll be back later with more.
