Some Shoutouts

Friday’s here, time for some shoutouts…

First of all, can I just tell you how great it was to meet my colleagues in Philadelphia this week at the FPA Spring Symposium! In particular, had a great time chatting with young, up-and-coming advisors like Vince Barbara at Newbridge Wealth, Chad Chubb at WealthKeel and Daniel Zajac (check out his blog Finance & Flip Flops). These guys get it, it’s really cool to see good people implementing the most important ideas in personal finance for their clients.

Got to spend some time yesterday with my friend Scott Krisiloff at our offices in Manhattan. Scott hails from Los Angeles and runs a wealth management / mutual fund called Avondale. He’s scary-smart and does deeper-dive research on corporate conference calls than anyone I know. His blog is here, in case you’re not following him.

Shout to the crew at Benzinga, which has planned an amazing FinTech Awards event, happening in NYC on May 24th. I’ll be hosting the event again, and hopefully pronouncing the names of all the startups correctly (or at least most of them). I’m told the final tranche of tickets is now on sale, click here to register!

There’s also plenty of time to plan your trip to Orange County, CA for the IMN Global Indexing and ETF Conference at the Monarch Beach St. Regis in Dana Point. The lineup – including Meb Faber, Helaine Olen, Kevin O’Leary, Rob Arnott, Felix Salmon, myself and others is pretty stacked. IMN knows how to put on a show, if you’re looking for a conference this summer, this is the one. If you’re an advisor, use my code for a 100% discount.

Lastly, shout to Shake Shack for opening in two locations on my nightly shlep to Penn Station – Herald Square and in the bowels of Penn itself! Danny Meyer is doing everything he said he would do, including raising workers’ wages to keep the vibe happy in stores and opening more locations every quarter. Also, nice earnings report.

Have a great weekend everyone!
