If we’ve underestimated anything, it’s the speed with which technology is sucking up every spare ounce of our time, attention, money, engagement, talent and imagination. It’s almost as though the rest of the world no longer matters.

Have a look at the pre-market action in the Nasdaq heavyweights, on the heels of last night’s earnings barrage. Google’s going to open up 70 points and Amazon close to 60. Microsoft’s up 10 sticks. 10. Facebook’s going to rip through the 100 dollar mark and even the recently lethargic Apple is lacing up its track shoes.
