The 2014 Playbook Playoffs, Today on CNBC’s Halftime Report

It’s year-end and the producers of my show wanted to have some fun with predictions for the coming. As you know, I find forecasts and predictions to be both helpful (they force you to search yourself for what you really think, see The Highest Conviction Game) and a bit silly (anything can happen, even the most well-constructed thesis about the future can be undone and invalidated in a split second by unforeseen events).

But it’s still a enjoyable and intellectually stimulating exercise and we’re going to go through it together live on the show today at 12. We’re calling it the 2014 Playbook Playoffs – all eight of the Halftime Report’s trader crew will be on-set and reveal their favorite ideas for the coming year. And we’re going to tear each other’s picks apart right to each other’s faces.

Should be exciting / awkward / weird to watch and I hope you do.

And the even better news is that you guys get to vote. Log onto Twitter and use the trader’s @handle along with the hashtag #playbookplayoffs to cast your vote for the guy or gal with the best play for 2014.

And don’t be shy about voting for me @reformedbroker, I wouldn’t mind not coming in last 😉

Also – we’re each revealing three picks but on the website they’ll be putting up two additional ideas that won’t make it on the air. Go here:

So check us out from 12 to 1pm ET on CNBC, see you there!
