John Silvia, the Chief Economist from Wells Fargo, is out with a note on some of the economic ills that won’t simply be cured by higher cyclical growth.
Our current expansion contains a mixture of a cyclical recovery and structural issues that are yet to be resolved and are not addressed by economic growth alone. Hard realities require hard decisions ahead:
1. Housing: Rethinking Qualification and the Desirability of Homes
2. Federal Deficits: Running out of Road
3. Jobs: Skills Mismatch and the Complexities of Education
