Brian Shannon is one of the best traders on the web, both in terms of his skill and his ability teach these techniques to those who want to improve.  The below post appeared at his site AlphaTrends last night.  I was so enamored and impressed with its simplicity that I’ve reprinted it here in its entirety.  If you’re not following Brian, you’re missing out.

People have been asking why I haven’t been doing many free blog posts lately.  The answer is real simple.  The market remains in an uptrend and it should be considered “innocent until proven guilty”.  Don’t try to pick the top, don’t over think it, just listen to price action because www.onlypricepays.com.

Until a meaningful level of support is broken, the trend remains higher. Embrace it, but be ready to move to the sidelines as price action dictates. It’s really not as difficult as we often make it.
