I know this is a couple of days old but I’m just getting around to it today. Ezra Klein asked the question of whether or not taxpayers should get a receipt for what their dues were actually spent on. I’d say yes, but I’m worried that if we saw it broken down like this there’d be riots in the streets.
The infograph below is the itemized “receipt” for a $34,000 earner in 2009, I’d have liked to see a six-figure earner’s receipt, but you get the idea.
