Dynamic Hedge: Don't Believe the Hype

Remember that time in early July, when after a vicious June beating for the stock market, we were treated to a relentless series of posts and articles about the Death Cross?  I think I probably did one myself, mea culpa.

And of course, the market has rallied pretty much relentlessly since the Death Cross meme made it’s rounds.

Anyway, the Dynamic Hedge blog reminds us not to get caught up in the market hype with a post called LOL Death Cross:

The post then links to several Death Cross articles of varying levels of wisdom or hysteria from early July.

Market memes like “Death Cross” pop up all the time.  Usually, when an investing concept becomes completely ubiquitous and accepted as obvious and inevitable, it has already outlived its usefulness.  In short, don’t believe the hype.
