What I’ll Be Discussing in Detroit

I went to work updating my slides and remarks for the appearance I’m making in Detroit next Friday. I’ll be speaking to an audience of professional investors and advisors and their guests at the annual CFA Society of Detroit Forecast Lunch, being held at the Motor City Hotel & Casino.

My presentation, entitled Let Me Save You Some Time, takes a look at the current trends in investing and wealth management and gets behind the numbers to understand why they’re happening and where things are headed. I make the case that the popularity of index funds and ETFs is only partly explained by cost – but that the other, more consequential story revolves around process and incentive systems.

If you’re in the area and want to come to the event, here’s how you can register.
