At the request of so many investment advisors, my friends at Riskalyze share the big trends in the assets going into and coming out of advisor portfolios every week. The underlying data is aggregated from hundreds of thousands of client accounts across the $44 billion and counting that advisors manage on the Riskalyze platform*. I hope we can uncover interesting trends for you each week…
August 1st -August 7th
- US Equity (IVV, IVW)
- International Equity (OAKIX, DFIEX)
- Small Caps (IJS, SCV, VB, IJR)
Losers (advisor flows FROM these investments increased substantially):
- High Yield Bond (JNK)
- Gold (GLD)
- Proctor and Gamble (PG)
Josh here – Gold kicked off the week with a rally (dead cat bounce) after what seems like a month without a bid. Unfortunately, advisors had spent most of last week kicking it off the island. High yield bonds were also for sale, with the selling presumably picking up into Friday as the July non-farm payrolls report was too neutral to change the industry’s view on September’s FOMC meeting.
In the buy column were US equities, International equities and Small Caps – perhaps a vote of confidence that the summer swoon since the May highs has gone far enough.
*(to state the obvious, Riskalyze does not share client sensitive data with me or use animals in testing).
