Four Things You Need Before Starting A Company

Bill Sweet, the CFO and resident tax expert at Ritholtz Wealth Management, lays out the four things that everyone needs to know and do before they start their own company.

Becoming an entrepreneur and launching a new product or service into the marketplace is one of the most exciting things you can do in your lifetime.

Unfortunately, according to the Small Business Association, roughly 50% of small businesses fail within the first few years of being launched.

Bill Sweet coaches many business owners so that they can stay on the right side of that statistic. In this video, he relays the four most essential things to begin with, before starting a business. For example, how do you know what kind of company to establish? Is an LLC right for you or a sole proprietorship? What about a partnership? Or a C Corp? Having the answers to questions like these in advance will give you a much better chance as succeeding in business.
