Please Take Time Out for Oklahoma Today

What we know so far is that 51 people are confirmed dead from yesterday’s devastating tornado, 20 of whom are children. People have lost fathers, mothers, sons and daughters – one minute they were there and a minute later they were gone.

The miles and miles of destroyed homes and the devastation you’re seeing on your TV screen will still be there long after the cameras are turned off. Having watched my own community rebuild this year after Hurricane Sandy, I can tell you that it’s a long and painful process that doesn’t end just because the news cycle has moved on.

There are two ways you can help these people – many of whom have lost their possessions and places of business, some of whom are now mourning lost friends and family members:
