It’s Official – Kate gets the SI Swimsuit Issue Cover

Sports Illustrated just dropped (on their “Extra Mustard” blog) the official cover art for the 2013 Swimsuit Issue yesterday.

For the second consecutive year, it’s Kate Upton.

This is a fairly controversial choice in some circles as Kate is very far removed from the typical, skeletal model that adorns magazine covers to begin with. What’s cool about Kate is that she doesn’t seem to care what the conventions are. Also, women tend to love her as much if not more than men according to polls – perhaps it’s the All-American Girl vibe, maybe it’s the dozens of YouTube videos of her actually smiling and having fun.
