Got to meet Tom Dumont, the guitarist of No Doubt in the hall at 30 Rock this week where they were performing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Tom and I did a radio chat for Bloomberg last month about why musicians like him have to pay extra close attention to the economy and their money, but we hadn’t met until Thursday. I was on the 6th floor to tape the Closing Bell with Maria Bartiromo (CNBC) and No Doubt was at Jimmy Fallon’s studio that’s on the same floor (which is cool btw, I get to hear The Roots warming up every time I do an afternoon taping from there).
Anyway, Tom and the band were in town to show off their new single, Settle Down, which gets right back to their early influences and roots (ska, reggae, etc). It’s a killer jam and, as you’ll see below, the crowd loves it. The new album from No Doubt will be their first in 12 years, it comes out in late September.
In the meantime, enjoy Settle Down and grab it on iTunes this weekend!
