Greetings from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow. OK, I’m not not literally in Scandinavia but the next best thing – Minnesota. Minneapolis, specifically.
I feel like I’ve come home – everyone here looks like me, what with all the giant dudes with blond hair, blue eyes and red beards. My mother’s family was from Ireland, which means it is likely that I’ve got a lot of Norseman DNA somewhere along the chain. Also, I love Haagen-Dazs, so…
Anyway, I’m here to present at the CFA Institute’s 2016 Wealth Management Conference in downtown MPLS. I’m also looking forward to catching up with Isaac Presley, who writes the excellent Cordant Wealth blog and to hear Tom Brakke’s talk on selecting and monitoring investment managers.
The full agenda for the event is here. My talk, at 4:50pm CT, will be live broadcast on the web here.
Afterwards, at around 6:15 or so, I’ll be hanging out at Marvel Bar on North Second Avenue. I’m told they make the best craft cocktails in the Twin Cities. Hope you can stop by to say hello if you’re in the neighborhood.
Cheers and wish me luck in my talk today. No matter how many of these things I do, I’m never not nervous.
