Saturday Night Video: Teenage Wasteland

Just as we’re getting over one tragedy, another one strikes. The latter half of 2012 has been pretty tough on the Northeast, between Sandy and now the events of this week in Connecticut and along with the aftermath, which for some will last a lifetime.

Some of the greatest musicians alive came together on December 12th at Madison Square Garden to help raise money for storm-damaged New York and New Jersey (earlier this week I posted the Roger Waters and Eddie Vedder team-up on Comfortably Numb). Among the bands that came out was The Who, or what’s left of it after so many decades. Roger and Pete brought the thunder, I loved their performance of Baba O’Riley.

I’ve posted it below along with a killer version of it from a 1975 show in Texas – which includes original bassist John “the Ox” Entwhistle and drummer Keith Moon, both now deceased.

For comparisons sake, watch both. And marvel at how good these guys still are…
