Senators on How Great They Are re: Bipartisan Debt Deal

So apparently there’s a “Gang of Six” bipartisan deal coming on the Debt Ceiling issue (proposal here).  I’ll hold comment until I know something worth discussing.

The market is screaming higher here as a lot of the doubts about downgrades start to fade.  I talked about why the Debt Ceiling thing wasn’t keeping me out of stocks this morning on Yahoo’s Daily Ticker (see it here).

But here’s an idea of how proud the Senators are of themselves (via WSJ’s Washington Wire Blog)

Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R., N.H.): “I think the vibe in the room was very positive. My first impression is that this is a very credible plan…The senators who have worked on this on a bipartisan basis, they have done a tremendous amount of work in the last six months and that’s why I think we need to give it careful examination. From what I heard, it certainly was a credible plan. I need to look at the details, truthfully, before I can fully support it.”
