Greg Michaels is Getting There…Be Patient

Whoooooaaaaaa

Whoooooaaaaaa

Let me spend a moment coming to the aid of Greg Michaels, not that he really needs me to.

Greg is the new writer on Dealbreaker and since his Bambi-esque beginnings, learning to stand up on the wobbly legs of a newborn fawn, he’s shown steady progress on the site.  His topics are getting more interesting and the writing is improving as well.

I happened to have noticed this particular comment left on one of Greg’s late-in-the-day posts this evening, and my fellow DB trolls will find it pretty amusing, even if it’s a bit cruel:

Dealbreaker Comments

Not cool, you guys…

“Greggums” is more than capable of cobbling together a “Write-Offs” end-of-the-day links post without cheating off of Clusterstock.

We’ve probably hazed him enough.  Jumping into the Dealbreaker mix and trying to hang with EP and Bess is like being thrown into the Chicago Bulls starting five with Jordan and Pippen; it’s daunting enough without the heckling on every post.

Keep at it Greg, you’re growing on us.

And sorry for referring to you metaphorically as Bambi.

Having considered it myself before, I can imagine the trepidation and utter horror he faces each morning as he sits down at his keyboard. Indeed, being, er, attempting to roll with Bess or EP is a tall order, especially when hired specifically for the more “technical” finance/econ stuff.

Guy is coming along; very, very, very (…) very slowly…
